About Álex

For more than 10 years in education I have seen how many of my students needed better designed and adapted learning materials. Many of them had reading difficulties or disabilities, such as dyslexia, while others had problems with the complexity of texts, or even with the perception of colors!

My goals and values as a teacher have always driven me on the path of universal design and accessibility. And because of that, for the past 5 years I have focused my research and studies in Accessibility and UX Design in order to improve and grant accessibility to everyone, both online and AFK.

In this portfolio I offer a collection of the materials I have developed as a UX Designer, Instructional Designer, Teacher, and Communicative Mediator. Four fields that are strongly connected and related under the umbrella of cognitive accessibility.

About this portfolio

The content in this portfolio is adapted to different specific and cognitive needs.

For instance, the typographies used in this site are Dyslexie Regular and Calibri to grant a better readability for people with dyslexia or reading comprehension difficulties. Also, a large number of teaching materials will be more visual than textual in order to serve as a teaching tool in the classroom.

Each section follows the same structure, showcasing samples of my work in the different fields, followed by my related academic background and professional experience.
